Livingston County says conditional permits have been issued for some of its private campgrounds – however restrictions will be in place.

Permits allowing the use of campsites – including tent sites – were issued Friday, with specific restrictions in place through June 8.

Campground-operated food service will be available for takeout and delivery, and food must be eaten at individual camping sites. Bathhouse, toilets, laundry facilities and camp stores will be subject to social distancing and face mask rules.

Swimming pools, beaches, playgrounds, recreation halls and pavilions are off-limits at this time. Social gatherings are still prohibited.

Campgrounds across the county were closed last month in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Anyone with questions is asked to call the Livingston County Department of Health at 585-243-7280, or to visit the department’s website.
