Add Greece to the towns that are cancelling their Independence Day celebrations for 2020.

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich made the announcement Tuesday about the town’s annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, which typically has a parade and fireworks.

Reilich said the town had been waiting for guidance on crowd size from the state, but as it got down to the wire, they were unable to make a decision.

“We really wanted to have the 4th of July celebration for our community, which has already been through so much throughout COVID-19,” Reilich said in a statement.

Reilich promised a “bigger and better” celebration in 2021.
