
Rochester, N.Y. – The Rochester City School District is getting some extra help in this year’s state budget.
The state is providing $704 million to the district this coming fiscal year – about $83.8 million more than the previous fiscal year.
The $704 million includes $487 million in Foundation Aid – nearly $40 more than the year prior.
There is also $87 million in COVID-19 supplemental relief in the budget, along with $197 million in aid from the American Rescue Plan.
The $197 million must be spent on COVID-related expenses – including reopening schools and academic, social and emotional needs for students.
