Just days after the Washington Wizards sent Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a package including Chris Paul, the Wizards are sending Paul to the Golden State Warriors for Jordan Poole. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards are also receiving a protected 2030 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick from Golden State.
The 38-year-old Paul, who will begin his 19th NBA season with Golden State, averaged 13.9 points and 8.9 assists for the Suns last season across 59 games. According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the Warriors do not plan to waive Paul, whose contract is only partially guaranteed.
Poole received a four-year, $140 million extension from the Warriors less than a year ago. He averaged 20.4 points per game, a new career high, but his defense fell to just 10.3 points per game in the postseason.
