Fired radio show hosts Barry Beck and Kimberly Ray are now apologizing for racist remarks made on their show last week.
The duo formerly hosted “Kimberly & Beck” on Radio 95.1 FM. They were fired by iHeart Media after using a racial slur during their afternoon show June 2.
“We said hurtful, offensive things, but we are not racists,” Ray said. “We do not have hate in our hearts. We have only love for everyone.”
“We apologize, not to get our jobs back, but to say that we are truly sorry and want to sincerely apologize,” Beck said. “We will not attempt to make any excuses or explain what we said because it was wrong, it was ignorant and inexcusable.”
In the statement, Ray said they owed their listeners, clients and the community an apology.
