A 9-year-old boy was struck by a car Monday after attempting to cross the street and is not in critical condition.

The driver, a 32-year-old female driver was arrested and charged for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree as her license was suspended.

The boy was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and according to RPD, is in critical, but stable condition.

Additional charges against the driver are possible as the investigation into the incident continues.
