A local Walmart is opening a COVID-19 drive-through testing site in Rochester.
Starting on Friday, the site will be in the parking lot of the Hudson Avenue Walmart and will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for all health care providers, first responders and anyone exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus.
In order to get tested, patients must schedule an appointment through Quest’s “MyQuest” online portal and app for the testing sites.
When you arrive, you will need to stay in your car for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check and self-administered test.
The site uses a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow the patient to swab their own nose while in their vehicles. The patient will be observed by a trained medical volunteer and need to drop the sealed sample into a container on their way out of the site.
For everyone’s safety, the test site is not available to those who walk up.
If you have any questions regarding testing and appointments, you can call Quest’s COVID-19 line at 866-448-7719, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
